On 16 March 2011 Colo-Colo hosted Brazilian side Santos in a group 5 game in Copa Libertadores 2011. They were without a home win against Brazilian opposition in 14 years and found themselves 0-1 down after only five minutes. Esteban Paredes began the recovery by picking himself up from a clumsy challange by Durval to chip the ball into the far top corner of the net. The Chilean side scored two more before hal-time and despite a Neymar goal in the second half they held on for a famous 3-2 win to take them to the top of the group after three games, their fifth consecutive win in all competitions.
